a program for moving cursor using Wii Remote on Windows PC.
(reading 3-axis linear accelerometer's value)

From what I know so far, the accelerometer details are much better understood. Plus it would require either a homemade set of IR emmiter LEDs or a Wii powered-on (and sending signal through the "sensor bar"). All you need to try out the current (non-IR) methods is a Wiimote (a $40 purchase) and maybe some extra batteries. So cool your heels, man, and just wait. They'll get it soon enough. It's only been, what, three weeks? Baby steps...
On that note, how about you go out and join in making the drivers for said infrared sensors? Then you'd have the last laugh.

Does this work? I havent got a Wiimote to try it yet. But this would be freekin' awesome.

Right now, it's using the accelerometer to which way the wii remote is being tilted.

However, it turns out that the IR sensor on the wii remote is an INPUT, which reads the position of the sensor bar.

Some folks have been using candles and the Wiimote has been picking them up and using them to triangulate location.
