I just purchased a new psp. I read all the guides on downgrading and what not, but I am still a little confused. I do not have a TA-082.

http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=28007&highlight=downgrader

Above is the thread I have read countless times. I am confused.

Put the EBOOT.PBP file in DOWNDATERTEST.

If you have a 1.50 dump, copy the DOWNDATER folder to the TOP LEVEL of your memory stick.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A DUMP, DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO RUN THIS PROGRAM. YOU MAY BRICK YOUR PSP.

For example, if your memory stick is O:\, copy it there.

This folder should contain two folders and two files:
DOWNDATER\DUMP\ (containing the 1.50 dump)
DOWNDATER\PRX\ (containing the 1.50 UPDATE .PRX files)
DOWNDATER\inputfl.bin
DOWNDATER\outputfl.bin

IF THIS IS ALL OK, YOU SHOULD BE SET:
* The two files and two folders mentioned above
* PSP\GAME\DOWNDATERTEST\EB OOT.PBP
* eLoader
* GTA
* A PSP THAT DID NOT COME WITH 2.60 PRE-INSTALLED

Now... Go into GTA, go into eLoader, and run "DOWNDATER TEST".

That is where i get lost. I do not have a 1.5 dump. Does this mean I cannot downgrade? If i can, what is the next step, after putting the EBOOT in the downdater folder?

ALSO:: This will seem like a dumb question, but how do I get music and stuff on it? I have a 32 mb memory card, and i cant figure out how to get music on it.

OK...to answer you're questions...I have a couple to ask first...

1. What firmware is on your PSP?

2. What exactly do you want to do?

As far as music goes...just plug your psp into your pc via the usb cable and put the mp3's into the file X:\PSP\MUSIC (X=the drive that the psp shows up as)

Also...if you really want to be able to put very much on your psp...get at least a 1gb memory stick

Yeah, I plan on getting a 2 gig in the near future. I figured the music thing out. I want to downgrade to 1.5 so i can use emulators. I have 2.6, which is why i sent the link to 2.6

I downloaded an installer for 2.71, so i could use the easy install, but i do not know how to install the 2.7 on the psp

download the eboot for 2.71 from dl.qj.net, make a folder called UPDATE in your GAME folder of your psp, drag the EBOOT to the UPDATE folder, then turn on your psp and go to memory card under game and then start the update to 2.71, then you can use the downgrader for 2.71 if this is what u were aiming for. hope this helps

ok...first download this file...it is the official 2.71 update http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=525

put it in x:\psp\game\update\eboot.pbp

exit usb mode and go to the game file on the psp xmb and select memory stick icon...the 2.71 update should show up select it and follow the onscreen instructions

now download the "easy 2.71 to 1.5 downdater" here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7YJ2RFX3 this is a megaupload so you'll need to enter the authentication code in the top right of the screen.

Once you've got the file unzip it and run the executable and follow the instructions...after it is done you should have 1.5 on your psp

Then after you have 1.5, use Dev Hook to play all the newest games and get all the features of 3.02.

Ahh, yes. Devhook might be a good idea. Although i dont know what it is, im installing it.

devhook allows you to "emulate" the higher firmware versions up to FW3.02 (i.e. the latest firmware)

I downloaded it, unrared it, and then I put it in the psp on the highest level. Is that it? or did i do something wrong? Also, where do i get emulators? can i use any emulator?

unless you downloaded the easy installer for devhook i doubt you have all of the files needed instead use this easy installerhttp://dl.qj.net/dl.php?fid=11648
This installer runs from your psp so just read the read me and put files where it tells you to and run it. It does the rest.

As far as emulators go you can use any emulator listed on the main dcemu psp page. Just make sure you use the 1.5eboot listed in a file not the 1.0's

Use the devhook ultimate installer, its quick and painless. Follow the instructions in the readme also, its all in there. If goto PSP Hacks you can search there for the Ultimate Installer (just search for Devhook).

About the Emulators, if you goto the PSP News front page (http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk) and look to the left hand side of the page; there you will find the links to Emulators, Apps and Homebrew Games. There are plenty to choose from.

I have a few emulators, and they are on the psp. How do i get games? I know where i can get them, but how do i play them? what folder do they have to be in? I have on my psp a folder in the games called snes, containing the snes emulator. What else do i have to do?

andrewgabriel77

since you're on 1.5 you should have 2 folders for every homebrew..."name" and "name%" inside the game folder (i.e. x:\psp\game\snes and x:\psp\game\snes%) inside the snes folder there should be a folder called roms...if there isn't make one and put them there.
