Retailer GAME has officially confirmed the cancellation of GAMEfest 2012.
However, it has also hinted at a return to the consumer expo in 2013.
The event had previously been confirmed last year (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/gamefest-will-return-in-2012/084915) upon the closure of the first ever GAMEfest. However, after a hugely traumatic start to 2012 that saw GAME first enter (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/game-enters-administration/093359) and subsequently exit (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/official-game-exits-administration/093722)administration – albeit with the loss of 2,300 jobs (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/277-game-and-gamestation-stores-close-their-doors/093369).
“I'm afraid GAMEfest won't be happening this year but we do have some cool things in the works,” the company said via Twitter, before adding. “By the way - this doesn't mean it won't happen next year. *wink*”
