i heard of this old psp app caled the version changer that could trick umds into running on lower firmwares than they needed to run. i cant find it and more importantly does it still work or did sony get wise?

y don't you just use devhook and version changer only works for 2.0 games i think cause it just changes the version number of the psp.

Exactly what gizmo said why dont you just use devhook you can use it to emulate higher firmwares

down with devhook! no, i just personally don't like it. just use 2.71 se-c.

yea but the problem is actaully setting up 2.71 se-c. Its a hastle and some people dont want to be on 2.71 all the time. I rather stay on 1.5 and run devhook. That works best for me.

does se-c play any umd regardless of firmware? i was never sure about the advantages of it...

SE-C plays most UMDs regardless, my guess is that ut has the same compatability with games as DevHook 0.46. It can play some higher firmware games like VCS, but im not sure about all the games.
I dont mind either set-up (1.5 +devhook or SE). Its just SE is more convenient without having to start devhook if i want to play a UMD after a homebrew, or exit devhook when i want to play a homebrew after a UMD
