Heres a little guide I've made on how to use the popstation program included in the new 3.02 OE-B Custom Firmware

Ok lets get started shall we

1. Download the firmware which includes popstation
http://dl.qj.net/click.php?pid=111&fid=11922

2. Install OE-B (This guide doesnt need to cover this hopefully)

3. Place popstation folder on your desktop.

4. Retrieve both EBOOT.PBP and KEYS.BIN of Hot Shots Golf 2. Any source will do. Place it in popstation.

5. Retrieve the necessary dll
cygwin1.dll (http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/download.php?cygwin1download0UIjOAZMjV)

6. Place said dll in your system32 folder. This folder is found in the windows folder of your C drive.

7. Retrieve an ISO, BIN, IMG of the Ps1 game you want to emulate and place it in popstation.

8. Rename it IMAGE.ISO IMAGE.BIN or IMAGE.IMG according to what type of file it is.

9. Open Notepad, simply type this line (no quotes). "Popstation.exe IMAGE.***"
(The three asterisks of course signify the ISO, BIN, or IMG of the file you are trying to emulate.)

10. Save this all important file as pops.bat and place it on the popstation folder on your desktop.

11. Double click pops.bat and let the program do its magic.

12. After the program has spit out the new eboot, place it and the a copy of the original keys.bin in a folder of your choosing in your psp's game folder.

Root>PSP>Game>FF7(or any game title or whatever you want to call this folder)

Inside should sit eboot.pbp and keys.bin

13. Start up your psp, go to the hot shots golf image and thank dax for his hard work.

Nice FAQ And this will probably help me alot :P but im wondering don't you have to have 3.02 OE-A to get 3.02 OE-B to work?

Try putting it in different folders e.g. game 150 game 302 and game that happened when I updated my cousins psp and after I switched it about it worked.

Yeah but that's the problem I oddly do not have a 1.50 or 3.02 Game Folder just a Game Folder.

Also I originally used 1.50 f that makes any difference with the folder.

EDIT:Finally got OE-B Working Thanks for the help guys :)

YOu should put this in dude

if your psp gets a black screen then its probably because your rip is not 100% clean dump, make sure your dump is clean with no compression or modifcations to it, to fix this problem

also im here to help with any problems here

I use CloneCD and it works great.

To everyone else: Make sure to set the kernel from 3.02 to 1.5 in Recovery Mode and if you don't know what it is, look for the README file in the 302 OE-A RAR file.

splodger15

Umm... I'm trying to get this game (Final Fantasy Tactics) working.

I got a copy of it but for some reason the files are

Use IMG.

Ok, so I got RE2 working last night. However today I ripped MGS and MGS VR missions, 'popstationed' em and put MGS on the memstick. I get an error CA000005 no matter what game I try to play. (Even RE2, which worked fine last night...)

Anyone have this problem?

scarph
December 27th, 2006, 01:10
ca00005 error comes from no keys in the folder

What about the L2 and R2 buttons? That's been configured using the Analog stick, but when you press the Home button during PSX emulation, you can rearrange the button in four ways.

Hi,

And why not use one of the Simple GUI Popstation to add custom icons/backgrounds to your psx backups ?
Just google-it ;-)

Well that is all the basics. So I say it is a nice guide to get started but what about these questions:

How to change these attributes of the game (ISO/PBP):

Title.
Savename.
Software manual pictures.
Background music when game is highlighted.
Turn icon into an animated icon. Also these questions are bugging me:

How to play multi-player? (Is it possible yet?)
How do games like monster rancher 2 work? (When creating a new monster from disc)Thank you for the guide, please answer as many of these questions as you can.

THANK YOU AGAIN!

I know this is a VERY dumb question I am fairly new to all this. If I download the new OE-B thing does it really update my firmware or just trick it, much like DEVHOOK does? I have been a 1.5 owner since it came out and have enjoyed all my emu and homebrew. Sorry. I just would like to know if it would be possible for me to still use my emus and such before I install this.

Again sorry for the stupid question.
