ok i have one quick question, on ffvii do you have to combine all the disks? or does it let you swap them out?

I believe that it will

My thinking:-

1. Since the same game is used to re-make the eboot, the save games all go to the same place, normally each PS1 game (official) would have its own 2 memory cards of space
2. Most games that have 2 or more discs will ask you to save before switching, just incase something goes wrong loading the second/third/forth disc, save the game, exit that disc and load the next one, hopefully the save game created by the last disc should be acessable

This is my hope atleast, back to FF9

Just a quick question about Metal Gear Solid - When you have to fight Vam, you have to change to Player 2 controller, have anybody got to that part yet and if so, is there anyway to get past it. Many thanks

Vamp is a boss in MGS2..not 1. XD I think you mean Psycho Mantis. IIRC if you wait long enough, the game continues without you switching controllers.

Converting it to NTSC makes it playable, but leaves a small black border on the top.

All these are ntsc
Fighter Maker crashes when entering a fight
TNT Hardcore 4x4 runs ok, sound doesn't work
Star Wars Masters of Teras Kasi runs great
Syphon Filter runs perfect, but man, it's hard to control
Rally Cross 2 crashes when starting a race

more later.

Ape Escape (NTSC) - emulation works, BUT game REQUIRES dual shock, so you can't get past "insert dual shock" screen. I am pretty sure this applies to all versions.

Sled Storm (PAL (fixed to NTSC)) - Emulation is perfect! Music doesn't work, because it's regular audio tracks - too bad cause it's a killer soundtrack. Controls are fully customizable, making this playable. Audio will probably never work, now to find out how remove audio for saving space.

Final Fantasy VII - Working, but a few glitches in the corner and choppy in battle mode.

It doesn't for me, though there is a graphic glitch with the cursor when you are selecting an enemy.

Well is there a way of fixing this. its really depressing watching battlemode begin lagging.

I tried changing the CPU CLOCK SPEED using prx files but it seems changing the cpu speed has no effect on PS1 games.

I've only tried 4 games so far but later today I will try Parasite Eve 1 and 2:

FFVII - Perfect speed and sound. However, in battle there is a small square in the top left of the battle menu that tends to flicker every once in a while. This does not conflict with being able to play.

FFIX - Perfect sound and graphics look superb. Only complaint is that on larger maps it tends not to load immediately thus slowing the game down a little bit until it is fully loaded. It is still fully playable and enjoyable.

FFTactics - As reported before perfect speed and sound.

Here's a new one:

EHRGEIZ - Perfect speed and sound. There are slight graphical problems with the floor tiling (meaning that when part of the floor tile is off-screen the rest that is still visible turns black until the full tile is in view). But this only happens one some maps and doesn't change gameplay.

I'll post a report on PE1 and 2 sometime soon.

Legend of Legaia - NTSC - graphical glitches, crashes (stuck on a black screen, no sound). When you are running around the town, it runs perfect with sound (aside from the graphical problems). I tried 2 different rips.

Inuyash - A Feudal Fairy Tale - NTSC - Training works full speed with sound. Starting story mode or any other mode will stick when Round 1 displays on the screen, but you are still able to jump and move, but nothing else. I tried 2 different rips.

HAHA cannot even compare the two... Why? Lets see, first off the fact that the list you showed us was organized by letter. This list is alphabetized, but not neatly organized. You can hardly call our list a copy of that... Big ****in deal we have some of the same games on both lists, its bound to happen (you know people generally tend to like the good games...)

Vib-Ribbon (PAL) - Menu works (Graphic are okay, except bottom of screen gets cut off), but you get an insert disk screen trying to get ingame

I've got an idea for getting Vib Ribbon working. Try making an ISO of and audio CD and use Popstation to create a new eboot.

The tricky part would be swapping the VibRibbon eboot for the CD one. You could hotswap the memory stick, but you risk corrupting the card if it's in the middle of a read/write when you pull it. It's probably save to do it when Vib Ribbon is asking to insert a music CD since you have to do a button press to confirm the CD is in the drive -- so there's no active disk/stick access.

What we need to write is a small shell that runs on top of the PS1 emulator. When you need to switch a disk or insert a data CD you push a button combination that brings up a menu where you can choose which eboot you want. Behind the scenes the shell would swap the eboots and rename the one you aren't using.

Other than that, there may be a way to fool Vib Ribbon into reading the music data from Mp3's. I can't remember if Vib Ribbon uses the raw data from the CD track or just the analog audio output to make the game elements. I know a few games used the raw data from CD's (ISTR a monster builder/pokemon sort of game that did this).

Erm guys...Im not sure if anyone experienced this or if it's an actual problem but for Resident Evil 3 If freezes when (Sorry if it sounds confusing) Well you know when you exit the Parking Lot Area you get to a small area, which leads you to the area with the battery operated lift (and the place where you first meet the Brain Suckers) Well trying to enter that door causes the game to freeze when you have all the parts necessary to operate the Trolley which leads you to the Clock Tower. Well if you DO understand what Im saying does this happen to anyone else?

I dont know if this sound silly or not. So far we've been using Hot shot golf to make the EBOOT.PBP for the ps1 games. I wonder if knewer versions of the oficial ps1 games have any diference in the emulator core. It should be interesting to compare 1st and 2nd generation pstore games to see if there is a change, that could mean more compatibility.

I have something to add onto a game:
Resident Evil 3 Fullspeed, Minor Sound Glitches (sometimes speech cuts off early, it's very very minor) and the screen goes black when you enter the room before the park as Jill when you have the lockpick, which is required at the time, so it is impossible to finish. (NTSC)

Qbert: works fine but first couple of credit splash screens are screwy (might be my rip or disc). Just hit start to get past them and everything else works fine.

Evil Dead Hail to the King seems to work fine as well

Hello everyone! I have been registered as a member on this site for about 3-4 months now and haven't bothered to type in the forums until now. I have one question to ask: Does it matter what format (.iso, .img., .bin) PSX games are ripped to for best compatibility with popstation? There was someone who stated .bin was the best, and that it would remove all music problems with some PSX games. (Chrono Trigger?) I have my doubts as to whether it really matters or not.....curious as to what some others think.
