I was looking around on ebay and found this:

Basically it uses a 2.5" HDD (standard ATA laptop HDD) as a storage medium and acts as a file host to transfer files to and from the HDD drive to any USB storage device, be it a PSP, iPod, GP2X, some digital cameras, and various card readers and usb storage device. It supports USB 2.0 as well as backwards compataiblility with USB 1.1 connections and devices.

mods, sorry in advance if this has already been posted...

That seems pretty cool. Good way to swap out those PS1 games that take up so much room.

And movies, songs, pics, and more!

I'm going to install one in my car for "on-the-go" storage without the risk of running out of juice for it.

Damn that looks pretty cool, and quite cheap too, considering what it does. 2.5" drives aren't all that expensive either at the moment.

The only thing is no matter how 'portable' it is 4xAA batteries aren't going to last very long.
