faceplates NEEDED

anyone hear anything about new face plates, doesnt have to be made by sony just reliable and known companies(samsung,sharp, etc) everyone will get scratches!!!

i know its a stupid question but arent faceplates the outer plastic and the out black(smudgey) plate?
