THQ’s Facebook campaign for next week’s WWE ‘13 turns gamers into cover stars.
The publisher this week launched its ‘Be on the Box’ app, letting fans create their own packshot for the new game from their Facebook pictures, or posed shots for a webcam.
Images can be shared online, or even be printed out so players can replace the game’s original cover in-lay – which features wrestler CM Punk – with their own efforts.
“The WWE ’13 Be On The Box Facebook App will invite people to create and print their own WWE ’13 cover artwork, as well as share their designs on Facebook with others from around the world in order to reveal their WWE Superstar potential or simply step into the shoes of current WWE Champion CM Punk," said THQ PR Manager Simon Miller.
"This really is a unique opportunity to see what it’s like to be a video game cover star and to prove that those childhood wrestling dreams could become a reality.”
