*Noob Help pls*

Hi all, ive been doing alot of researching on here and needless to say I NEED HELP =P. . . I have firmware 2.60 on the Ta-802 Motherboard, which do i need to update at all before i downgrade?.. I just tried to downgrade than put and upgrade to dark alex 3.03 yesterday with my other psp which was 2.71 , Ta-802 which i bricked but was luckally able to return and get this one. . . My question is how do I go about of doing this the safe way,

Tell me the right order if you guys would please, dying to play my xenogears =D

1-upgrade at all first?
2. Download Dark alex ta-802 downgrader?
3. upgrade using dark alex 3.03 oe a - b than c ?

Yesterday with my other psp that i returned I tried this since it was 2.71

1. went to http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=46638&highlight=shango
used his auto installer and was able to downgrade to 1.50 with hend.

this is where i think i screwed up
2. went to http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=338989
and did it his way with his files. I read with C u can skip a and b but wasnt clear at all if u can or what with ta-802

Sorry for the long thread but if anybody is able to help me please I would be truly greatful as I do not want to brick it again cuz meijers locked it so i cant return again they said i need to deal with playstation if i run into problems now.. . an early thank you

again thank u so much, before i got off i forgot to ask is it safe to reformat my card now or will i lose the ability of everything....plus this is my 1 gig card i want to upgrade to a 4 gig do i have to redo the whole process or anything?....thx man

You can reformat it wont effect you and you can just upgrade it still wont matter
