I exchanged my psp today and when exchangeing it the car codes were the same but yet the new one was a ta-082 (i dont know how to spot a ts-086) and they were both factory 2.60 LOL... but again i need to know if its a ta-086 and i had a error on my last psp ta-082 downgrade and my freind has a brick... a PSAR error out of no were... well all help is apppreciated...:cool:

Open your UMD drive and look for a IC1003 label in the corner. If you find that your psp is definitely a TA-082.

nuthing was wrong just want to know how to find a ta-086 i know i atleast have a ta-082...

Oh hm. TA-086. Frig I'm getting confused. You still see the same gold print. Uhhh..well I bet its safe to downgrade again. You just gotta make sure you're doing everything right :S. Because I don't know what went wrong. Can you upgrade to 3.03 to use that downgrader.


But yeah if the factory homebrew is 2.81 its probably a TA-086. If its 2.50,2.60, or 2.71 its usually a TA-082.

I dont have LCS but is the 2.71 downgrader TA-086 capatible? can u look im on a crappy laptop for a hour or so and i cant leave this web page without MAJOR lag...

You could upgrade to 2.80 and use this downgrader for the TA-086 motherboard. But you have to be sure that its a TA-086. Mainly because there's debate about whether it works on a TA-082 motherboard. I don't know whether its better to do this downgrader or rent a LCS copy from blockbuster or something.

EDIT: I'm seeing some successes with the TA-082 with the TA-086 downgrader. There's a debate because the downgrader is called TA-079-TA-086. People are saying that that means mobos that are in between. :]
