region coding

Hi, I would like to know if the ps3 is region coded for the ps2 games : I would like to buy one and I have some euro ps2 games lying around and I want to see if I can still play them....

Sorry man, but PS2 and PSX games are region locked. Its the only reason im waiting till EU release.
