Kill Bill: First off kill bill had the highest price tag of all the umd movies there where at $30 at ebgames. The extras werent that great either and the menu kinda simplistic and bland however true to the movies style. They include a music video and the making of killbill. The sound quality was great however the movie quality wasnt nearly as sharp as any other movie i've watched on psp umd. Another bad thing was it still had borders even tho the PSP is already widescreen. Very pointless to do this. It kept with the American rating of R and didnt have the color scenes either. Very lil subtitle languages either.
I'd give this a 6/10 in over all value. However the movies a true classic but i'd highly op for the dvd.

xXx: This film was $12 at Target. The first thing your gonna notice is well the movies not perfect quality. You can actually see signs of grain. Sound is very good on this though. Has plenty of subtitle languages mostly for asian regions.
The Extra on this disk is a trailor of Hellboy. I'd say overall value of it is 8/10.

Resident Evil Apocalypse: The price was $12 at Target. This was the best of them. The picture was super clear just like SpiderMan2 and the sound was perfect. It comes with tons of Subtitle options, 7 in total. It's extras are 2 trailors, Spiderman 2 and xXx. However I dont get having a Spiderman 2 trailor on the US version of any UMD movie as there is no way to get a PSP without Spiderman 2 included. This was the best buy for you money. 9/10

I plan on picking up probably 2 or 3 more titles depending on whats actually out by the end of this week. I know I need Hellboy, House of Flying Dagers and Once upon a time in Mexico. Look forward to me having complete scans of all the Region 1 umd movies I can get.

I assume you can't get any English movies that play on a Jap PSP yet..?? If anyone knows of any please let us know!

I'm sure any movie that was orginally in english voices will be for the Japanese version too. They don't seem to dub much. Just turn off the subtitles in the menu and enjoy them.

Japanese tend not to dub anything. Chinese and koreans seem to dub everything along with smaller places like germany. Hell Germany even dubbed porn. Thats how ****ing rediculous germany is about dubbing.

Man I can't believe psp videos are 20-30 dollars. Thats absurd, I refuse to pay 30 dollars for a movie that I can get for 10 dollars cheaper as a dvd...

Anyways I thought i'd provide you with some scans like I said I would.
There all scanned by me and suck I know, I plan on redoing alot of them once I feel like taking the time. Also US PSP games use a hard matted paper while Japanese ones use nicer glossy paper. You can get wrinckels in your US covers that wont come out if you dont prefold them before scaning.
I wanna start a site that provides scans of all the movies and games plus info reviews and save files. If anyones interested in joining in on the idea. Of course i'm always looking for people of skills, art, html, flash, java, shockwave.

I just got "House of Flying Daggers"

So heres another mini review

HOFD:First off this is a UMD white version. White versions are the boxs that come with the white borders and met a standard. This stand is 1:78:1 widescreen. This means theres no borders and it takes the total screen. Also this means its still no true widescreen. You'll be seeing about 97% of the orginal theaterical films picture. The picture was crystal clear and the sound was extremly nice. One flaw that all orginal movies dvd/vhs/etc... have are they use the generic crappy yellow text for subtitles which really sucks. The disk comes with Dubbed or orginal Chinese with subs. This is a rather good deal at the cost of $10 at Best Buy.

Great topic, great reviews and great scans :D *thumbs up*

I'd be interested in providing scans/working on the site in some way.

*off topic*
Jus watched hellboy tonight, didn't think it was anything special.. IMO far better movies could be on UMD.

ur right unsungzero, i thought Hellboy was absolutely awful and is EXTREMELY over-rated .. why wud u get that film on a UMD?? Once Upon A Time In Mexico was the same, only Johnny Depp made that film any good ... put absolute shame on Desperado (classic imo) - Pirates Of Caribbean is cool tho .. Johnny Depp being a legend once again!

I wanna see the following released: The Nightmare Before Christmas, Final Fantasy: Spirits Within, Donnie Darko, Vanilla Sky and Shaun of the dead.. there's loads more I'd like to see, but IMO these would be great releases for UMD :p aswell as some series should be released too like Simpsons, Friends (for the girls lol) and Greenwing/Spaced would be good too :D

Hopefully the movie library will expand over the year as more companies realise the potential for movie watching on the go/outdoors.
