Is this possible? I had an emulator that worked, but sadly it did not have sound and would not save. Is there an NDS format emulator that will actually save and play GB/GBC games? Thanks.

There is Goomba Color, a GBC emulator for the DS. Currently, this is the best method to play GBC games on the DS. However, it only works in GBA mode obviously, so if you have a slot-1 card or a slot-2 card without GBA compatibility, you're out of luck.

Other than that, there is only DSBoy, which you said you've already tried.

Yeah, Lameboy's release has made GB/GBC emulation on the DS very possible. I still prefer Goomba Color at the moment, but Lameboy is right up there in terms of quality.

Lameboy DS is the only one I use. DDR GB (which is infamous for having every song in every version 1 beat late) is on beat. Also, the main menu doesn't lag, so it's like Lameboy fixes the problem that my laptop couldn't even fix. It's a good alternative.
