View Full Version : Problems w/ MAME Roms

Hello,

I've searched through the threads and know that if a rom doesn't work using (in my case, Mame4all), then it's probably because it's not the right rom version (sounds like it needs to be either version .34 or .35). I've looked all over the place and can only find newer versions of the roms (1.07, 1.08, etc)....and I've also read that you can convert them to older versions using either ROMBuilder, or ROMCenter. I've tried both and am failing miserably.

I haven't been able to get ROMBuilder to do anything so far. The readme is not very extensive, and every time I type in the recommended syntax in DOS, I get the "no supported emulator" response.

I've also tried ROMCenter and it sees the roms, but says they are "unknown roms" and it won't rename or do any of the other "fixes."

Does anyone else have any experience with this or any suggestions as to how to convert to versions .34 or .35?

Thanks :)
