Maybe I'm dense, but I can't figure out how to get the PS1 games to sense that I'm using analog on PS1 games.

I've got the PSP set to have the analog stick do the controls, but games like Colony Wars still sense that I only have a Dpad controller.

Am I missing something, or is analog support not included?

BTW, even if analog is not supported, I still love the emulator and truly appreciate the work that went into allowing its use.

It's not included. This means you can't use both D-pad and Analog at the same time. Same thing occurs in Ape Escape, you can't play it due to lack of analog support.

This is a big problem. We need more options for controls like complete control mapping including any combination of buttons possible.

Have you tried CWCHEAT (http://cwcheat.zioale.it/)?
cwcheat (NO POPS version) includes also RemaPSP by danzel, a very useful way to change button assignments in games!I haven't tried it yet myself, but maybe this would do what you want. :D
