Before I shell out on a 4GB memory stick for my PSP I'd like to know if there are any issues or compatibility problems it has with different firmwares. I'm running a 3.02 OE-B PSP by the way and I'd like to fill it up with homebrew but, like I said, I need to know if there are any compatibility problems.
Thanks in advance.

No its not true... If you take a look on ebay you might get one for 100 at the cheapest
www.tigerdirect.com sells them real cheap 100 for 4 gig and like 50 for a 2 gig

I got my 4 gig stick from sandisk off of ebay a month ago, and it works fine.

It worked out to about $70 after shipping

Thats a good price but there is lots of fake ones there... Tiger direct will sell you a real one for less than $100 and they ship in about 4-5 days so you get your chip in superb speed...

It will be fine. Why not upgrade to 3.03 OE-C or 3.10 OE-A?

Froogle it. $100 is a rip-off! $73 on digitalect.com, $60 on EBay.

Speaking from experience, be sure you trust the seller before buying. I bought a 4gb stick off Ebay recently and it couldn't hold more than 1gb (even though it reported as 3.7 gb in explorer). There are many sellers out there manufacturering cheap junk in seemingly authentic casing and making a fortune.

When you get your card, I suggest copying enough files to fill its capacity. Remove it, reinsert it, then try copying the files back to your computer.

Make sure you're also aware of the steps to take if what you've received is fraudulent.

Keep in mind that more than 98% of all 1GB, 2GB and 4GB MS listed on eBay are counterfeit items and many have fake capacities (http://reviews.ebay.com/FAKE-Sony-Memory-Stick-Pro-Duo-MagicGate-Cards-Exposed_W0QQugidZ10000000001236041).

Just want to be sure everyone's informed before committing to buy.

I would just buy it from a powerseller that assures psp compatibility. It's what I did, and have had no issues.

Bought a 4GB off of ebay for $35 including shipping. Transferring files from the PC to it seems be slow so perhaps it's a counterfit, but it does hold 4 gb and I've had no problem running homebrew from it.
