It should work without trouble on 3.03oe-c. I haven't tried it myself, but I know that sony previously raised the ceiling for memory sticks with one of the later firmwares. As long as your firmware is above 2.80, (3.03oe-c included) you should be able to use the stick just fine.

um....... do you guys think that it will work when running homebrew?.. since it uses the 1.5 kernal when running homebrew n stuff like that..

Well I'm using a 4GB stick without any problems. Can't imagine the 8GB one will be that different.

The 4 gb limit was taken off in 2.81, so it should work with 3.10 OE-C (or 3.03 OE-C.)

but the 1.5 kernel is inbuilt into the firmware.

but the 1.5 kernel is inbuilt into the firmware.

this is true so the problem isnt wether the 4gb cap is lifted in 2.81 its that 1.5 kernel where all homebrew uses only has a 4 gb cap and homebrews crashes(based on maxconsole's 8gb topic) on 8 gb sticks

Yes, i run Sony 8gb card with 3.03 oe-c. Bags of room for ISO's plus film...nothing less will do. its 7.6GB formatted.

What about homebrews and emulators does it crash your psp?
