Hi.

Before updating to firmware 1.60 every single memory card i have worked fine.
After updating to 1.60 can't read them and plus the 'led' over the card slot doesn't flash the moment i put a memory card anymore!

Does anyone had this type of problem?
Is there a way for the user to fix it without opeing the console?

Start your PS3, go to Settings/System Settings and choose Restore PS3 System, hopefully that will help.

Sony has an adapter cable out for transferring saves from your memory cards to the PS3 hard drive. It's about $25. Search for Sony Playstation 3 Memory Card Adapter (Or Adaptor for those not using the King's English).

I haven't heard of this problem, nor have I experienced it myself. I have a 32mb stick in the PS3 at all times and I upgraded just fine to 1.60 without any problems. Perhaps try using one memory card at a time?
