it um..folds...protiens

Whatever that means. I think they can use this data to figure out how various diseases operate (such as BSE, cancer, lots of others) and then figure out how to stop them.

http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py

You want to type DCEMU into the box below Team Name is exactly.

You can also download the computer client for windows, linux, and mac. If you have a spare computer or computers, its for a good cause :).

you have to finish a 'work unit' before any stats will appear. I got one finished last night, so under the team stats I am the leader. :)

Who is gonna knock me off the top spot!!

I think it is only registering you as a team member once you actually complete a work unit

well i done 308/1500 ? does that mean i done 308 work units or i need 2 get to 1500 to complete a work unit ?

steve-b
April 4th, 2007, 17:08
yeah you need to get to 1500 for that one to finish.

I just read somewhere that if you do not finish the work unit you have within 2 days roughly, it scraps the data anyway. This is due to newer work units using data from old work units. I think your job just gets handed off to someone else.

If you are taking longer than 2 days to perform the work unit, then it's a waste of time I guess. The PS3 work units have been set to last roughly 8 hours.

So even now, not much progress has been made by the team. No interest is it? One could still run Folding@Home on ttheir computers, the application runs in the background. Oh yeah and Folding@Home for PS3 has been renamed as Life with Playstation for firmwares up from 2.40 I think, can't remember.

Anyway right now at the time of posting, I'm in 3rd place with 68 units completed. Currently leading is Sterist, at 174 units finished.

woot i have taken the lead recently, i guess ppl have given up on competing, oh well it just makes it easier for me to lead the pack ^_~ soon i will be so far in the lead if no one starts it back up i'll never be caught lol

I think I'm the only one along who's active in the Folding@Home team. Maybe not all that often but I'll still complete a unit in a while or so. I think Sterist sometimes contributes. I know for sure that everyone else after him have long since stopped.

Folks, remember that you can still join the Dcemu UK folding@home team and complete units using a computer if you don't have a PS3 or one that works. Jst head over to Stanford University's website (http://folding.stanford.edu/) and find the application in the downloads section.
