==================================================

It has been decided by a majority of the staff that posting images of commercial games running on nullDC is acceptable due to the fact that nullDC can play legal dumps (whereas chankast could not).

NOTE: ANY DISCUSSION OF ILLEGAL BACKUPS OR RELEASES BY WAREZ GROUPS WILL RESULT IN A LARGE INFRACTION.

Please try to use this format when posting:

Game Title (Region)

Computer specs:
Motherboard & RAM
Video Card Specs

nullDC configuration:
nullDC configurations and plugins (ex: Default nullDC configuration or "used Chankast's Video plugin")

Status: Game Status (Very Playable, Playable, Crashes in Game, or Broken)

Comments on gameplay

Example:

Sonic Adventure (NTSC-J)

Computer specs:
Pentium 4 2.4GHz 1GB RAM
nVidia 6800 GTOC

nullDC configuration:
Default nullDC configuration

Status: Playable

Very Playable (45-60 FPS, no crashing)
Playable (30-45 FPS, no crashing)
Crashes in Game (Gets in game but crashes)
Broken (Just doesn't work)

Please note that some games run at a max of 30 FPS. The max FPS are shown next to the actual FPS
EXAMPLE FPS: 68.88(60.00) where the number on the left is the actual FPS the game is running at and the number on the right in the parenthesis is the max speed.

Also give us info about the audio, any small graphical glitches, etc.

You are free to upload your images. If you do feel free to double or even triple post. If you receive an infraction let me know and I will fix it. You may be better off hosting the images off site. Please keep the images at no larger than around 100KB. Let's be friendly to our dial-up users :).

Please make images ~320x240 and up to 4 max per game. Thanks!

Marvel Vs Capcom 2
Very Playable
There are some graphical glitches in the game that also appeared in chankast. The characters tiles? seem to be spread out more than they should be. The 3D Backgrounds look amazing and the sound is very good.

Phantasy Star Online Episode 1
Very Playable
This game seems to run at a max of 30FPS. Though you can select a different TV mode on my rip, which might change things. The game looks very good and runs very fast. On a side note I see a section in the plugins for a modem/bba. If that ever is implemented It would be great to run this game at the much faster rate.

There are a few glitches in the textures, but this game almost looks like nullDC was designed for it.

I only have one Screen shot to offer. I used to be able to get in game for a little bit, but now the game seems to crash when I try to load a save.

has anyone got past the first level in sonic 2? it freezes for me :(

Exellent emu tho :)

once the joypad plugin is in, and some minor gfx fixes corrected, this will be the nearest thing to playing a dreamcast (bar owning one :p) you can get :D

Someone over at ngEmu (http://forums.ngemu.com/1114992-post76.html) posted a work around:

Add: Status with hex-edited ISO: Works
Open the ISO in a hex-editor: search for the following hex string:
20 90 0E A0 09 00 01 7E
Change the first instance of the finding to:
20 90 09 00 09 00 01 7E
as you see, only 2 bytes are changed.. but those 2 bytes make the ISO compatible (seems like nearly 100%) - there will be errors in the console but ignore them, it will work!
note: this edit was done on the MDF file.. if you have CDI version I am not sure whether this works but I guess so!
note 2: this edit makes the rom incompatible to Chankast (will show an error and abort) - demul will run it but still won't reach the menu

A bug exists in Resident Evil Code: Veronica in the game with Chris Redfield in the statue of the tiger, in the which we can catch limitless red and blue jewels, and the normal is to just catch a jewel of each to show two hidden items behind the statue. With that bug, there is not as arriving at the end of the game. Forgive me for my terrible English, because I live in Brazil.

It slow down in city escape level (28%). The game run at full speed in almost all levels. Some areas may slow down, about 73%. There are black poligons all over the screen. That's why it's not very playable. Well... you can still play this game if you memories every part :( (I am 99.9% sure it's my graphic card, so it may work in your computer. I hope a new version of nulldc fix this issue).

I am lv 7 in phantasy star now and in cave 3(1:30 hours playing). The game is great when it's portable. I highly recommend it if you have a notebook
There's also available a PC version. Did you try it? You can play online ;)

factor remix
February 25th, 2008, 09:03
The pc version is PSOBB (Blue Burst). The problem is that this game is only online, so you can't play this game portable (unless you have wifi :().

The other pc version is the same as the DC one, but it was only released in asia and it doesn't support joysticks (no sixaxis :(). Sega killed the servers, so no online. The only way is to join a private one... but schthack have to send you the serial ID for this game, it may take weeks.

Maybe nulldc may get the Modem/BBA plugin to work (or I get it to work..?), so I can join the private server.

JKKDARK
February 25th, 2008, 13:15
It only takes 2 or 3 days for the ID

Playing this game online is really fantastic. PSOBB is really a good game.

When reading from the disc image (I have mine in .mdf/mds format if anyone is wondering), it runs up to 45-60 FPS, but will slow down to about 20 or 30 at Grind Square. I was still able to finish the game though. When reading from the disc, the game runs up to 20 FPS, or maybe slower. Some SFX are missing, and the shading has minor issues when selecting a character (see 2nd screenshot). In order to do graffiti, you need a USB PC controller with analog support. The game has only crashed on me ONCE (and it was a couple days ago when I was using Yo-Yo on the level where you fight Poison Jam).
