hi, seems that alot of people are getting this new custom firmware, i was thinking of getting it too, but wanted to know if i should.

i still want to be able to play the 1.5 homebrews, thats really all i'm concerned about. what is the downside to upgrading to a 3.03 or 3.10 OE A from a 1.5 and i have homebrews of which i want to stay in they're quality, and will my windows xp theme be damaged or will i be able to reinstall it?

i'm at noob with this, the only reason i can think of going to 3.10 OE A is because i can play psx games.

thanks in advance

You can play PSX games on 3.03OE too, its just that there is a bigger compatabily i think on 3.10OE.

You can customize the XMB menu on 3.03OE which you cant on 3.10OE. Those are the only differences really.

I think you can use all homebrew apps that worked on 1.50 under 3.10OE. I'm at 3.10OE and the only app I can't get to work is PMP subtitle mod. . But this is probably due to me being a noob...

So in the end there are just NO disadvantages. And if you still want to go back to 1.50, this is no problem...

Edit: I'm not sure if you can use a 1.50 custom theme under 3.03OE or 3.10OE

Of course the custom firmwares (OE) are much better.
They're basically 1.5 ones with enhancements and mofications.

Pros:
- Lets you play newer UMDs (that require firmwares higher than 1.5)
- Lets you play ISOs as simple as drag-n-drop to memory card. Then launch directly. (No Devhook needed)
- Internet Browser
- Customizable (3.03OE)

No Cons.

And, most importantly, the ability to play any ps1 full speed with sound.

no, not all. some of them are laggy or crash quite often. even though that's just a minority of ps1-games

1. Get the 1.50 update eboot and rename it 150.PBP
2. Get the 3.10 update eboot and rename it 310.PBP
3. Put oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker% in PSP>GAME
4. Put 150.PBP and 310.PBP in the oeupdmaker folder
5. Disconnect your psp from the pc
6. Through the xmb, run oe update maker
7. Connect your psp to the pc
8. Copy 310oeflasher and 310oeflasher% into PSP>GAME
9. In PSP>GAME>oeupdmaker there should be a new file called DATA.DXAR. Move it into PSP>GAME>310oeflasher
10. Disconnect your psp from the pc
11. Through the xmb, run 3.10 oe install

But if you're lazy, just use an easy installer...I've used the easy installer by csfreakno1. It worked fine on my psp

didn't work...
i put the 150 firmware with the 310 in the oeupdmaker, it gets some random error and doesn't load the program.
