I need help playing ps1 games on my psp. I have firmware 3.03 OE C and i have put my crash bandicoot 2 folder with the Crash bandicoot 2 eboot and keys file in GAME150. I also changed the kernal to 1.50. When i go to game on my psp and start up the crash bandicoot file it shows a sony entertainment pic then freezes and says "The game could not be started (then some error code)".

How do I fix it?? I have not flashed anything to my psp and I have never bricked it before...

What am i doing wrong?

What error code does it give you?

I think the kernal is wrong.
If the kernal is 1.50 then it should be in GAME303 instead.

Actually, PSX games should always be in /PSP/GAME, no matter what kernel.

The kernal controls what your GAME folder is set to. Since there really isnt any homebrew for 3.03 its best to leave the kernal at 1.50 and put everything in your GAME folder.

Did you try to customize anything on your PSP? Icons, fonts, etc. I know that if you change the fonts PS1 emulation wont work.

Another problem might be that you used the wrong POPS. I believe Dark_AleX changed it a bit in 3.03 OE so PS1 games for other firmwares might not work.
