i heard that psx/playstation 1 games can somehow be played on a psp - is this true? i'll have to dust off my old psx collection if so!

Yes in custom firmware psx emulation(popstation) is a built in feature, however you have to convert your ps1 iso to eboot in order for them to work, I would reccomend using simple popstation gui cos its very user friendly.

No they don't screw up anything, although you can download legal games from the Playstation 3 Playstation store.

manzz.... i wish they would continue creating a ps1 emulater.... im still on 2.71 hend..... im too scaried to downgrade then upgrade to 3.1oe or watever

Don't worry, if you follow the steps correctly, nothing would go wrong.

I downgraded about 6 PSPs from 2.71,3.00 till now. 0 bricks ;).

There is nothing to be scared of when downgrading just make sure you follow the instructions and check your motherboard to see if its a TA-082 cos you will need a different downgrader if it is.

converted my old tekken 3 and bust a groove ps1 games to psp format tonight.

works like a dream.

bloody brilliant stuff. thanks to all on this post who provided advice!!!!!!!

What can I do if I have a TA-082 PSP? I'v heard that the emulators won't work on my PSP because it's a TA-082

no... u need to 1st update to 3.03 then downgrade to 1.50 then back to 3.10 oe or higher, MAKE SURE ITS AN OE OR UR SCREWED!

then ur ready to go

well not exactily. you could go to a friend that has a ps3 so you can get the hotshots golf 2 from him. or there are cough"other"cough ways to get it

if you want to dump your own PSX games, download a program like Alcohol 120% or Iso Producer

I use magiciso, but with the unregistered version, you can only dump up to 300 megs. I recommend dumping your games to bin/cue files, it converts faster and is more reliable.
