Triumph Studios has delayed turn-based fantasy strategy game Age of Wonders 3 from this autumn to Q1 2014.The Dutch developer said it took the decision to improve the quality of the game."When announcing the game earlier in the year we listed a projected release date of fall 2013," community manager Jimmy van der Have wrote on the Age of Wonders forum (http://www.ageofwonders.com/age-of-wonders-iii-set-to-release-q1-2014/)."We immediately got questions on this, whether this would be fall in the southern or northern hemisphere, and when pre-orders would start."We've made great progress developing the game and feel now is the time to give you heads up that we will take a bit more time creating all the features and content. Age of Wonders 3 is the largest game in the series and with the additional polish we hope we can give you an even better experience."Back in March Triumph told Eurogamer it had aimed to launch Age of Wonders 3 in the autumn, but said it was unafraid to delay the game to early 2014. And so it proved.Age of Wonders 3 is the long-awaited follow-up to 2003's Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic. There's a Civilization-style tiled map system for empire building and a turn-based combat system with a free-roaming 3D camera for battles. You switch between the two modes as you grow your empire and conquer new lands.
