Hiya all,

I've recently got a DC and I was hoping to get it online. I read an article on the net here (http://consolevision.com/members/mterlouw/guides/winxp_f.htm) and it told me how I could use a dialup modem to connect the DC to my PC and so my PC would let the DC use its (Broadband) internet connection. I set the registry settings up per the instructions and my pc became really slow to react and stuff... so i used my backup to restore the registry etc and its fine now.

What I want to know is this: is there a way to manually send commands from the dialup modem to get the DC connected, nd thn leave it to its own devices? Or, is there another way to connect them through a dialup connection like this? Do i need special software for it to work? Do i need to dig out my external 56k modem? Is there a linux live cd which will act as a router for my DC?

A reply to any of those questions would greatly help, even if you just throw a link at me to a site with a guide or something.
Thanks,
- Javawag
