View Full Version : Can someone help me out and bring me up to date? Homebrew Qs inside

First of all, a few facts about me/my PSP:

1. I have FW 2.60
2. It's one of the first PSPs that came out (from eBay - Hong Kong :-P)
3. I've been off the PSP "scene" for a year or so...
4. I have GTA:VCS
5. I have a 2gb mem stick pro duo

Ok well I have a lot of questions to ask!


1. What is the best FW to use at the moment? This is in regard to features, HomeBrew compatability etc

2. What are the best homebrew programs for the PSP?

3. http://www.qj.net/Christmas-is-here-with-iR-Shell-v3-1/pg/49/aid/77003 what is this actually for? Is it good?


That's the first few questions I have in mind.

Right...

You can downgrade from 2.7 without using a GTA... even though its grand theft auto - LCS unpatched that you need for the 3.03 downgrade.

The best firmware at the moment is 3.40OE-a.

Its custom firmware so you get all the goodness of 1.50 with all the goodness for 3.40 official, so everyone wins. Right?

So do I need to downgrade to 1.5 before installing 3.40OE-a?

Also, what are the chances of my PSP getting bricked in the process? What is the safest way to do what I want here?

i've been using devhook 3.01 firmware emulation for like months!!!

the chances of a psp bricking during the upgrade/downgrade are the same as it bricking updating your PSP from sony

my friend updated form sony... and his PSP bricked.. he was using a Wireless router...

standard PSP update...

so.. TAKE YOUR CHANCES.... lol.. there arnt any really
