What is the best PS1 emulator, and how good does it run?

Uh, pops? It's built into all the custom firmwares. First rip a psp game to iso. Then convert it with popstation.
I use this to convert them.

For further help just ask.

The games run at 100% full speed.

You don't install it, it's already on there. Disc images aren't called roms, their called Iso's. I Just explained how to get it on there. Use MagicISO or Alcohol120% to rip the iso.

MagicISO seems to rip bin files about 10 times faster than isos.

Ok, I think I understand the concept, but can you walk me through the ENTIRE process of adding a game?

Thanks anyways, but I have a TA-082 mother board, 3.40 OE-A, and I don't buy stuff off the playstation network.

That tutorial is old and outdated. We've already told you how to do it like 5 damn times!

I'm not much of a computer whiz though, and I don't understand a lot of the terminology used. What I'm asking for is a lay mens explanation, not a tech-wizards.

Well, there's almost no way you'll be able to rip an iso without "paying" for a program to do it. (Bittorrent will help) Once you've got a program I'll continue with helping.

EDIT: Found a free one
http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/download/ISORecorderV2RC1.msi
Rip the game, then I'll continue.

I don't know, check around the toolbar. It should say something to the effect of, "Make ISO Image". I've never used that program, I use MagicISO.
Tell me once you have the iso.

Make sure the eboot is in a folder in the GAME folder.
Example:

ms0:/PSP/GAME/Hotshots2/

i ripped it using magicISO pro (i registered it) and ripped it to iso and when that didnt work i downloaded a torrent STILL NOT WORKING

does it have to say "hot shots golf" if i ripped that game because ive called it SCUD***** etc in the conversion and ive also called it spyro - year of the dragon using the POPS convertor

NOTE: ive used POPstation GUI and the one you linked before and its still not workin.

lol its a bit scratched (CD)

NOTE: it reads my card at black screen then does nothing.
menu still works(controls, speed, manual, etc )
ive left for an hour still nothing.
ive re loaded it and changed to fast loading left for an hour STILL nothing

Hey, I'm playing that game right now! :D

First off, rip it to a .BIN/.CUE file instead of an iso. It goes faster, and according to pops, it converts better. Now convert it, and put the eboot in a folder, the eboot is ALL you'll need.
For example, my eboot is located at:
ms0:/PSP/GAME/Spyro Year of The Dragon [NTSC]/EBOOT.PBP

Make sure your game folder homebrew is at 3.40, and not 1.50. (recovery)
