No rep anymore :P

1. Not sure to be honest, im guessing it loads popstation games

2. Popstation

3. Not sure

4. Plays DAX format games (illegal to talk about here)

5. It dumps a DAX format disk image off a UMD

6. Ive never even heard of a downdater, downgrader is to take your firmware down from what it was.

7. HEN is a homebrew enabler, it allows you to be homebrew ready just while the PSP is on, this requires no flashing but it will go back to normal when youre psp is turned off.

Thanks for your help what happened to rep

If Dax Ziso Loader is illegal i won't do it then as their is no point in breaking the law. Is downgrading illgal

The rep system was taken away, because it was getting out of hand.

----

No downgrading is not illegal i dont believe.

Playing backup games is not always illegal aslong as it is a backup from your UMD.

But still we don't give advice on playing backups etc. because it leads to piracy.

What is your current PSP firmware?

My firmware is 3.03 and I have researched and know about the lcs downgrader but I am very worried that I may brick my psp (I do have lcs though) Should I bother and how does it brick

I used the GTA 3.03 downgrader, no problems at all.

I never never known a brick when it is done properly.

The only was to brick is if the flash0 get corrupt from your mistake, like turning it off while its flashing will corrupt your flash0 meaning brickage.

Have a full battery and read the readme through before you do anything.

Make sure that your gta is unpatched, meaning, when you put it in your psp, the update reads '2.00', and not '2.60'

These are the steps to downgrade

1 - If you have a 3.03 PSP skip to step 6

2 - Download 3.03 update from here:
http://dl.qj.net/PSP-Firmware-3.03-PSP/pg/12/fid/11844/catid/163

3 - Unzip and place the file in <pspdrive>:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE

4 - On the PSP, run the 3.03 update from the memory stick under the Game menu.

5 - Delete <pspdrive>:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE

6 - Copy the contents of the folder MS_ROOT from the 3.03 downgrader ZIP to
the memory stick

7 - Unzip the 1.50 update to a temporary folder. Rename the EBOOT.PBP to
UPDATE.PBP and copy it to <pspdrive>:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/ . DO NOT
OVERWRITE PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP!

8 - Load GTA LCS

9 - It should get to loading savegame, then the screen will clear to black
and fill with a light blue colour, then the PSP will reset itself (if
this does not happen see section below)

10 - Check that HEN is running by going to system settings, then to
"System Information" and it should show up as system version
303 HEN

11 - If it is showing up as HEN then go to the memory stick and
run the x.yz update

12 - If you have an unpatched TA-082 or higher motherboard, you will be
prompted to allow the downgrader to patch your motherboard so it
can be safely downgraded. The downgrader will not let you proceed
without patching, if your motherboard requires it.

13 - Before the downgrader does anything to your PSP it will ask
for you to agree to what it is doing, if you no longer want to
continue press the Right Shoulder Button (R-TRIGGER).

14 - Once you have agreed to start the downgrade do not unplug the
PSP, or try and restart it

15 - Once finished the PSP will ask you to press X, and reset itself

16 - If it comes up saying that the settings are corrupt, press x
to continue, this will mean you will need to re-enter the
settings for network connections into your PSP, otherwise go to
step 18

17 - Load the included NetConfigBackup application in your PSP, and select to
restore, this will take the backup that was done of the network config
that was done automatically during the downgrade.

18 - All done now :-) Hopefully you now have a 1.50 PSP. Enjoy it responsibly.

I found these but I don't quite understand them?

In step 7 where is it saying to put the eboot

Get the 1.50 update get it from dl.qj.net.

Unzip it to your desktop rename it UPDATE.PBP

Then put it in the psp/game/update folder.

It says do you want to replace existing folder what do i say

Triv1um
May 13th, 2007, 15:36
So you have overwrite your folder with the folders in the downgrader right?

If you have done that, putting the eboot in shouldnt need to overwrite anything.

Damn it's not that hard! I figured out how to do this when I was 11.

Just Kidding

Triv1um

im still on my first i have done everything to mine.

this part cant brick anyway, bricking HEN is impossible.

The bit youre doing now will just boot you onto HEN so you can run the downgrader.

So when you boot up GTA with the file in place HEN will boot up, so you can go for the downgrade.

parkermauney
May 13th, 2007, 16:16
Actually, the 2nd one came alongside with the returned brick. So I've only bricked once, and it was out of my own stupidity.

Dont worry, you'll be fine, I've never bricked downgrading.

Gah I can't believe your 7. I take back what I said.
