GenesisPlus Problem, looking for help...

The Obsidian emulator that plays on my Dreamcast, for the most part, works, but there are some games that don't work. For example, Earthworm Jim goes to a black screen after the first level's title is displayed, and Streets of Rage 3 freezes once you get to a certain point in the first level. I know there are the mode, skip, and sound settings in the menu that can be toggled for each game, and I was just wondering if someone has experienced similar problems (I'd assume as much), and if someone could please tell me how to toggle the mode and skip settings so these in game errors can be avoided. Or perhaps I have some old version of the emulator, and I just need a newer copy. I really don't know, and that's why I'm here. Thanks in advance for any help, it's been driving me crazy.

the Obsidian/segagen emu is ripped from a commerical dc game, and there for illegal

A legal (and better) alternative is GenesisPlusDC: GPWT (http://dreamcast.dcemu.co.uk/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,32,338) or GPDCQ (http://dreamcast.dcemu.co.uk/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,32,496)

Hm, Streets of Rage 3 or Bare Knuckle 3 isn't supported by SegaGen (which is the MD emulator Sega Japan released for free with DreamPassport 3 and Sega of America sold as Sega Smash Pack Vol.1) - Earthworm Jim however is.
