hi team...........i have 2 questions.

1........i have a PAL DC with a Samsung GD-Rom Laser and Controller in it.........i want to put that unit in a NTSC DC that already has a Samsung GC-Rom Laser and Controller in it...........would that work ?...........i read elsewhere it will , but want to double check before proceeding.

2........i have another NTSC DC with a damaged Yamaha GD-Rom Controller , a Capacitor has blown on the board and the DC will not function properly..........i need another Yamaha GD-Rom Controller , can i use a Yamaha GD-Rom Controller from a PAL DC ?.....or even a NTSC DC ?

any help is appreciated

i don't see why this shouldn't work. it's just the drive and not the mainboard itself. whether it comes from a ntsc or a pal unit shouldn't matter, because the data it delivers is not influenced by the video standard the dc runs on
