Are you SURE your in OE?

It sounds like you aren't on OE, go to Settings and check the System Information. If you are on OE it might just be the recovery part of your flash got corrupted somehow. Just do a full re-install of 3.40 OE and it should create a new Recovery Menu.

I have the exact same problem as Trukeitaro. I have verified in system settings 3.4 OE. Games were working fine then stopped all of a sudden. I am trying to get into the recovery mode to change to "no UMD". Hold in R and nothing happens. Thanks in advance for any help.

K. Press R and hold it, don't let off. Now turn on your psp. When recovery boots, let off R.

I too have the same problem as others. How can so many of us be wrong?

Followed all instructions to the last detail. Seems a little more than a coincidence I would say.

Yes 3.40 OE-A as confirmed by System Information.

Am just recharging to 100%, already tried reseting to defaults within XMB menu but no result from there. I predict when I try and reinstall 3.40 OE-A it will simply say that I already have it.

It won't tell you if you use the actual 3.40 OE-A update, via the game menu.

By the way, I used the guide over at www.psp-hacks.com written by Calo

Just install it like you did the first time.

OK guys found a way around it. Seems recovery mode doesn't work with a soft boot. So pull out the battery, reinsert and then press and hold R while turning on.

Haha, lol. Just hold down the off button till it turns off completely. lol.

you cant get ot recovery without TURNING OFF your psp. not going to standby. you have to hold the power switch up until it goes off then restart while holding R.
