Hey, I'm a new PSP owner and I've been looking into 3.40 OE-A firmware. I'm wanting to use this but I'm concerned as my PSP is an Asian model.

So to quickly ask, would any of these firmware's work on a Asian PSP (Model PSP-1006) or would it completely brick my hardware?

EDIT: oh yeah, my current firmware is 2.71 if that helps?

You can downgrade then upgrade to a 3.40 oe and yeah there is always a chance of bricking.

Yeah i knew no matter what there was a chance of bricking, I suppose what I ment was that is there an increased chance of bricking or will it just out-right brick the hardware due to it being Japanese (and thus uncompatible)?

btw, thanks for the reply!

nope it been japanese is not problem.

just check your mobo is right for the job.

open your umd door, look at the top where you can see abi of green.

if there is gold writing there it makes it more tricky for you.

but no, it been a jap console does not increase the chance of a brick.

Go ahead, though you'll have to check if the motherboard is ta-082.

Then use this downgrader:
http://downgrader.lan.st/ta082down.rar

If you don't have ta-082, just skip the idstoragechange part.

You'll need hen in order to run it:
http://exophase.com/files/psp/hend.rar

Then update to 3.40 OE-A:
http://exophase.com/files/psp/340_oea.rar

Your set! With OE you can change the enter button from O to X. IDK if you want to or not.
