Those playing Grand Theft Auto V on Xbox 360 should not install both of the discs that come in the box.
That’s according to Rockstar’s Twitter feed (https://twitter.com/RockstarSupport), which says that "for optimal performance, we recommend not installing” the second disc found in the box.
Buyers of the 360 SKU will find two discs in the box – one labelled ‘install’ and one labelled ‘play’. An 8GB mandatory installation from the first is required. Users can choose to install the second, too, although it seems that this will actually reduce the overall performance of the game.
Obviously this does not apply for the PS3 version, which comes on just the one disc, although that also requires an 8GB mandatory installation.
Whether this has any implications for the digital-only PSN version remains to be seen.
