I just got my US launch PSP all set up with the custom 3.40 oe-a firmware last night and I want to do it for my sister's new psp. Its a ta-082 with 3.03 installed on it, is there a way to downgrade it then install one of the custom firmwares?

I've been googling this question but I keep getting mixed answers.

Thanks

A PSP with the TA-082 motherboard can be downgraded. Use this downgrader here (http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1034). You will also need the following update packages which can be obtained below:

Official 1.50 updater (http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/4)
Official 3.03 updater (http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/958)

If you don't have one already you will need a program to open RAR archives to extract the contents. Also you must have a copy of game Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories which is unpatched as it is required to start the downgrading process. It will have 2.00 update data on it and the copyright should have 2005 marked on it. Copies that have 2.60 update data and sold after June 2006 will not work.

Remember, don't forget to read the readme document enclosed with the downgrader package. It will tell you how to get the downgrader up and running.
