Hey guys, I'm having a bit of a problem with pokemon fire red, english version. I'm using gPSP .9 with a 3.1 OE PSP

When I try and open a certain bag in my backpack (The TM case) I get a blue screen that says "I regret to inform you that your psp has just crashed"

It also says- "The offending routine may be identified with: psp-addr2line -e target.elf -f -C 0x89fa6c 0x0 0x8f09974"

Does anyone have any ideas for a solution to this problem?

Thanks!

Try it with different configurations and cpu speeds.

Thanks guys! I'll try gpsp .8.

Parker, what configurations would you suggest messing with/changing?

EDIT: gpsp .8 didn't help, I'm still having the problem

I'll tell you my configurations, and see what you can do.

Alright, I can access my tm case fine.

Graphics and Sound options:

Display scaling: scaled 3:2
Screen Filtering: yes

Frameskip type: automatic
Frameskip value: 4
Frameskip variation: uniform

Audio Output: yes
Audio Buffer: 4096 bytes

Savestates are off.

Cheats and Miscellaneous Options:

Clock Speed: 333Mhz
Update Backup: Automatic

This should work. If not, I'll upload my config file.

Or you could be using a bad dump.

As in, a bad BIOS?

Thanks parker! I'll try it and tell how it works out!

EDIT: Well, those are the settings I'm using, and I'm still having trouble.... This is odd.

ahh, I see. Are you allowed to tell me the name of the file your using, or would that be crossing the line?

Well, we may be using different ROM dumps. I'm using one called 1695 - pokemon fire red version(E).gba

yeah go try another rom i've had that problem not to long ago with FF5 but fire red should work because i believe its in the game_config thing and if exophase put it in there then it works

I always rename roms when I set them up.

your one of thoes organized people i try that and it works then when i go to do more it falls apart

but yes umm...long live the king

oh yeah i flipped out for awhile cause i saw one of the old threads for like gbapsp that got bumped up that was odd

there should be rule against that like violaters will be shot on spot or something along those lines

I've just put Pokemon Firered on my psp yesterday and playing it for some hours now (man, this makes me feel like seven years ago when I had Pokemon Blue on my GB) But it's working perfectly for me. I think you have either a bad rom, a bad bios or both...

By the way I'm using the German translation of the game, but this shouldn't matter...

Try a USA version if you're using a EU one.

Exophase once noted that he was working most on USA roms.

(J) = Japan
(U) = U.S.A
(E) = Europe

btw: there is no latin america, asia or africa region...

So this will be:

(U) = America
(J) = Asia

Um I have my own bios from my gba that i dumped. um fire works fine with me. Mybe you have that weird bios thats been going around that alot of people seem to have. It works fine on 90% of games but those 10% seem to give it fits. I forgot how you check but its somethign with the number code in the bios. oh if yall need any help on any other gba game let me know. Been getting a good bit of them to work (camelot mario tennis, golf(still wit graphics glitch but full speed)

To verify if your BIOS file is good, you can try using the checksums and hashes found on http://wiki.pocketheaven.com/GBA_BIOS

why do you need to cheat on pokemon???
remember old skool pokemon with the rumors about mew and stuff??? i think the most famous one was the truck at the dock *cause there was really a truck there*
