I am thinking about attempting to learn a programming language. (tried java and gave it up but willing to start again) I was wondering which programming languages homebrew is mostly coded in. This might help me decide which language I want to learn first. I'm not looking to be a heavy programmer, I just have a few hours a night to devote to this.

Most games are written in C/C++, and lua (Scripting.)

There are also compilers for assembly and python.

If that's your first attempt to learn programming, I advise you to start with lua. If you're an experienced coder you could coded in C/C++.

hmm you say there's some python applications? I wouldn't mind seriously learning python, I learned a few of the very basics of python awhile ago and I like that language a lot. It's much easier to learn. ^.^ If I somewhat master Python would that be good enough to learn C/C++? If so I think i'll go that route.

thanks for all the suggestions guys. I have decided to go with Python. I'm sure i'll be able to find lots of uses for python outside of the psp as well, and it has some good beginner tutorials.
