Well, I've decided to have a go at making my own portal. However, I am not attempting to make a portal that does everything. No, it won't have it's own web browser, or music player, or file uploading service. Arcadium is exactly what it's name implies. Arcadium is a gaming portal. Nothing but flash games. I haven't been a big fan of portals, because it seems most of them contain the same games (and apps) except just packaged up in a new shiny look. Arcadium has flash games that aren't found in every portal, making it unique.

Installation Requirements:
A PSP with version 2.70+ (or custom firmware) and flash enabled
A Memory Stick Duo with at least 5.7 MB of free space
A computer along with a USB cable or card reader to transfer the files

Instructions:
-Unzip the ZIP folder you downloaded.
-Open the folder. You should see a subfolder called "Arcadium" and "README.rtf"
-Connect your PSP to your computer and enable USB mode
-Copy the folder called "Arcadium" to PSP/COMMON.
-You may now unplug your PSP from your computer
-Navigate to the internet browser on your PSP
-Type this into the address bar (without the quotes):
"file:/PSP/COMMON/Arcadium/index.html"
-Alternately, instead of typing it out, you may use a file browser such as iFind to locate the file
-Congrats! You are now using Arcadium. You may bookmark it for easy access later.

FAQ's

Q: What firmware does this require? Do I need to downgrade my PSP to use it?

A: No downgrading is necessary. You need a PSP with firmware 2.70 or higher and flash enabled.

Q: Help! I try to play the games and it says "The content cannot be displayed."

A: Make sure you have flash enabled. To do this, navigate to System Settings on your XMB. Then scroll down to Enable Flash Player. Press X and follow the prompts to enable the flash player. You must have internet access to enable flash. Once it is enabled, the games should play for you.

Q: I see some weird files when I unzip the folder such as "MAC OS X" and ".DS_Store."

A: Do not worry about these. I use Mac OS X, and this operating system generates some hidden files that will show up on a Windows PC. You do not need these, so you may delete them if you wish.

Q: How do I change the background in Arcadium?

A: In future versions, there will be a theme changer. But for now, just find the current background located at "/images/background.png" and rename it to something else. Now place whatever file you want as the background in the images folder and name it "background.png". It must be a PNG file to function properly. You will also notice that two other themes are included. Just rename them to "background.png" if you wish to use them. Like I said, changing themes will be much easier in future versions.

If you have any more questions, post in any of the Arcadium threads located at various forums.
