My friend has a psp that isn't TA-082 and he's downgrading from 3.50 and then up to 3.40oe. My psp is TA-082 and he's planning on doing the same things to downgrade mine from 3.50 and then up to 3.40oe. My question is, will it be the same procedure to downgrade and upgrade even though they have different motherboards? Also, does my psp have more risks involved with the process?
I also hear that TA-082 psps are more limited in terms of downgrading and upgrading, so once I go to 3.40oe, am I stuck with that firmware since Dark alex is no longer making new CFW's?

Replies are appreciated :)

Yes its fine the downgrader will apply the proper checks on the board and it will patch it

Yes they are compatible you can change firmwares if you wish but best to stay on OE for the moment until a better custom firmware is released

once patched, ta-082 motherboarded PSPs can run all firmwares.
They cannot upgrade past firmware 3.11 with official updates once patched (thanks to Sony putting checks in their updater eboots, probably UMD updates as well), however, unofficial updates, such as 3.40 OE and 3.51 M33 should all work fine
