Yesterday PeterM revealed that sadly the latest Wii Update has killed off the usability of the SD Media Launcher, Meaning that Legal Homebrew has now been stopped on the Nintendo Wii.

Help get the story mainpaged on Digg by

Damn damn shame :(

Im one of the lucky few who was away that night so didnt update. I'll hold out for as long as I can but a forced update will come with a game Im sure :(

Nintendo was doing so well to with nary a bad word about them - NOW THIS :mad:

Can't say i'm surprised Nintendo has done this. The Virtual Console is proving a big money spinner for them and naturally they will do all they can to protect that.

There possibly will be, the Wii could possibly turn into the next PSP with people patching things that Nintendo don't want you to do (just like SONY and the PSP)

Yeah, sounds like a sony trick.

But maybe its getting ready for that nintendo homebrew thing? I forgot what its called but you know what i mean.

I don't think it has a name, but I think Nintendo wants things to only run through their channel. But homebrew currently runs from the GameCube side of the Wii anyway, so the simple answer at the moment is to dust off those old GameCube's
