Strange Sybolism in BioShock!

I was wondering if anyone else here has ever noticed strange symbolism in video games? Symbolism would be odd logos, particular themes such as Alice in Wonderland, etc.

It seems that BIOSHOCK has a whole load of odd symbolism, check this out:

I did wonder about the possible significance of the tatoos on the underside of the main character's wrists in the demo...

I guess I might have to get the game to find out.
