Need Help With Dc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, I need some help on this one. Ok well a while ago I was going to play Speed Devils with my friend, when all of a sudden the controller plugged into port "b" wasnt responding.So we fiddled with that controller and then we noticed that then the controller in port "a" wasnt working, so i soldered a new f1 resistor. After I soldered it we tried it out and every port on the Dreamcast worked except "b". So then we took the exact same controller(not thinking) and pluged into controller port "c" and then that one stopped working! Now only ports "A' and "B" work on the Dreamcast, and i was wondering if anyone knows what the problem is and knows of a way of fixing it.
