I'm thinking of importing a PSP from America but was wondering if there was any region issues such as wifi networking or connecting to other psp's and games e.c.t

No there isn't. I'm in Britain and I have an imported Japenese PSP.

So I could connect to someone else's PSP and play multiplayer?

Everything works fine if you import a psp I have been told
