View Full Version : Wondering how to use the darn PS2 emulator for PC

I have the PS2 Emulator for Windows, PCSX2. When I start it, it comes up with 2 problems:

Cant find MSVCR71.dll, and the sound plugin.

Incidently, after I hit ok, the PS2 emulator still starts up. So heres what im wondering about:

I get around 4fps with this. My PC requirements stretch far beyond what is needed to run this. Now I'm hearing people getting 40fps and wondering how in the icy core of heck do they get those kinds of speeds?! Plugins, BIOS, whatever, just tell me how I can get those speeds to :(

PS: Yes I do have the BIOS, so thats not the problem.

2nd question: Is there a way I can emulate from PS2 DVDs that I place in the DVD slot in my pC?!

Any help would be MORE then appreciated...

Tell em your computer specs. And you can use your PlayStation 2 discs, just put them in the DVD Drive and select the correct CDVD plugin

Cool.

PC Specs:

2.5 GB RAM
4 CPU 3.0 GHz Dual core processor
ATI RADEON X300 (bleh) graphics card

I have Win XP SP 2 on one partition and Win Vista on the other.

EDIT: Sweet, I got the DVD thing working! But it only runs at 17fps. Now this is Lunatea's Veil, so if this runs slow, there isn't a chance in heck that Monster Hunter can run 40fps.

Hmm, I can't get my dvds working....
Unless DMC naturally does nothing?
BTW shadow, which DVD plugin did you use?
