Intel's recently announced acquisition of middleware developer Havok cost the company USD 110 million (EUR 79.4m or £54.6m) according to TVC Holdings.

Venture capital firm TVC Holdings has agreed to sell its stake in Havok to Intel for USD 21 million (EUR 15.1m) following the manufacturer's surprise move.

"We are pleased to announce this deal, which is a successful exit at a fair price," offered Shane Reihill, executive chairman of TVC, reports Reuters.

Havok's software and services are used in some of the biggest franchises in gaming, including BioShock, Half-Life 2 and MotorStorm.
