Some explosions went off a few streets down from me just now, 9 fire trucks went down there and there is black smoke hovering about. There was one big explosion where you could actually see flame and then the other two were just small poping sounds, but still it was pretty exciting this happenign at 10:20pm, my neighbor caught some footage of it on tape and i will try to get it off him tomorrow to show you.

What sort of commercial property is around there?

I remember when a bunnings burnt down over here a while back, that was a shitload of smoke and quite a few explosions.

Probably best to stay inside and close all the windows if its close by.

Most likely some nasty stuff in that smoke if plastics/chemicals are burning.

Dude, you know sourced is kinda challenged. Don't be so hard on him (but give him hell), and yeah he probably would say it was cool if a terrorist attack happened...

...It was probably something careless that started that blaze leading to the explosion, like maybe a spark or something igniting something flamable.

Out of all the things that could cause a fire/explosion, terrorism should really be way down the list.

The reds aren't under the bed either.

You really think terrorists would attack a random-ass part of Brisbane?

The press have people living in fear of a very small threat tbh.

I know it hasn't, cause the only explosion that has been reported in the Brisbane area on any news site was on Thursday?

I did a Google search, I don't think it was this one for Thursday thou (cause when you said it was Saturday night in Australia and happening at the time).

Panel beater and a boat builder, burning paint, thinners and fiberglass resin etc. Nasty.

The only thing to be scared of is long term health effects from breathing in too much of that smoke, unless he was less than a few houses away. Sounded like the fire department had quite a bit of manpower there pretty quick.

lmtlmt
September 30th, 2007, 12:15
i wasnt too close to it, houses that were too close were evacuated, it was a few streets over from me, but the main road to get to it ment the fire trucks had to go past my house.
