Right now I am on 3.60 M33. My biggest interest is getting emulators working on my PSP Slim. Currently I have NES, SNES, Genesis, GBA, CPS1, CPS2 emulators working just fine. I want to make sure before I upgrade to 3.71 M33, that all this emulators will still be working fine or else I won't upgrade. Anybody tried any emulators on 3.71 M33 with a PSP Slim?

With the release of the slim and peoples interest in
getting one but not wanting to lose out on the emulation the phat psp is capable of,
This is a very important question.
BUMP.

Hi

I've just got a PSP slim with 3.71 m33 firmware. Now I'm wondering what emulators to use. I'd like to play GB/C, GBA, NES, SNES and LYNX.

So what emulators would you suggest for 3.71 m33 (slim)?

Thanks

cartlix, so your saying i can go back from 3.71 m33 to 3.60 m33? If so I will give it a shot. Like I said already got nes, snes, genesis, gba, cps1, and cps2 emulators working on my slim psp 3.60 m33.

Here is the emulator list:
nesterj v1.11
snes9xTYL0.4.2 fw 3x
gpsp 0.9 for TA-82/HEN-D

they all work great except for the snes emulator is not as fast as the ME version.

How did you get that version to work with 3.71 m33? ( I mean the SNES Emulator).

Which folder did you put it in?

Thanks

No I got 3.60 m33 but haven't tried it on 3.71 m33 that's why I started this thread cause I thought someone has already done it. Don't want to upgrade without been sure. I know it works on 3.60m33. There's an snes9xTYL that is made for the slim. I went to www.pspslimhomebrew.com for some emulators.

download the snes emulator from www.pspslimhomebrew.com and put the folder in the GAME folder. It should come up just fine in the Xmb. Also make sure you put the roms in the same folder as the snes folder. You don't need to put it in a ROM folder or else the roms don't show up.

@cse1320
Thanks!

Is there also a Lynx emulator working with the slim?

not that I know of. Why so interested on the Lynx?
Not many memorable games on that handheld.

Ok, I got the following emulators working on my slim (3.71 m33):

nesterj v1.11
snes9xTYL0.4.2 fw 3x
gpsp 0.9 for TA-82/HEN-D
ScummVM 0.10.0

@cse1320: I owned a Lynx many years ago (well in fact it should still be somwhere...) and I liked it. Not many memorable games, that's true. But it's kind of nostalgic feeling ;-)

Hi there. cse1320, could you, please, name the Genesis, CPS1 and CPS2 emulators you're using for PSP Slim (3.60 m33).

for CPS1 and CPS2, you can use NJ's CPS1PSP and CPS2PSP (version 2.2.2). I also have tried MVSPSP, working fine :D

nobiman how you get the cps1, cps2, and mvs working. For some reason when I tried loading a rom it tells me a certain file is missing. I made sure I put the bios in the roms file. I got the 2.0 versions of those emulators working but can't seem to get the 2.2.2 versions working.

Glad to hear you managed to get the emulators working with your PSP Slim.

I have a PSP Phat w/3.40-OE firmware, with 1.50 compatibility mode and everything works great. Last week I picked up a PSP Slim and upgraded it to 3.71 M33-2 but I can't get a single emulator to work with it at all! :(

Can you tell me what settings you're using in firmware? Mine are as follows (maybe I am doing something wrong?)

PSP-2000 settings under the M33 Recovery Menu/Configuration (3.71 M33-2):

Skip Sony logo - Disabled
Hide corrupt icons - Enabled
Game folder homebrew - 1.50 Kernel
Autorun program - Disabled
UMD mode - Sony NP9660 -NO UMD-
Fake region - Disabled
Free UMD region - Disabled
Hard reset - Disabled
XMB Usb device - Memory stick
Charge battery when USB cable plugged - Enabled

Is anything sticking out here as misconfigured to get the emulators to work? Thanks everyone.

If when you try running each emulator it kicks you back to the Xmb then try UMD Mode: Normal- UMD required. I am running on 3.71 M33 and i don't have the game folder homebrew option on it. I have all emulators working on it.

Really? I just moved my homebrew games from PSP/GAME to PSP/GAME150 which helped some. Now certain emulators work, like NesterJ, but some still do not.

For example, the PSPGenesis and PSP2600 (for Atari 2600 games) emulators continue to crash, with the same error message:

The game could not be started. (80020148)

I changed the UMD mode as you suggested, but no success. So I have to ask, what versions of PSPGenesis and PSP2600 are you running, and under what conditions?

I have all my emulators in the PSP/GAME folder and they all work fine. When I upgraded to 3.71 M33, I didn't do any changes in the recovery menu. I used the default settings. Did you download the dgen emulators from www.pspslimhomebrew.com ? That one works like a charm but not as perfect as the phat psp version.

Sorry, that didn't really answer my question. ;-)

Are you able to get PSP2600 to work on your PSP Slim running 3.71 M33? If so, what version of PSP2600 are you using?

I'm trying to determine if there is something wrong with my PSP Slim, or if there is a legitimate compatibility issue.
