3DO emulator for PSP SLIM, Is it possible?

Is it possible? - I think FreeDo is opensource but I'm not sure though.

Id like to be able to play some of its games like ShockWave, Return Fire, Crash n' Burn, super wing commander, 11t hour, alone in the dark, guardian war, and some others. :D

Probably, but no one will do it. Even FreeDo is the only 3DO emulator available.

Freedo isn't actually open source.

MESS emulates 3DO. I would love to see a 3DO emu on the PSP.

FreeDO is also spotty with FMV.

That made me sad. I had borrowed my friend's copy of Zhadnost: The People's Party and ended up not able to play it. Couldn't find the Filesystem browser anywhere online, either (so I could rip the video of those terribly amusing TV intermission clips)

But yeah. Count me in for support of this Idea. Maybe someone will actually give it a shot someday ;)

Not likely... Look at SNES/Genesis emulation. Still far from finished and the PSP might never be able to run full speed some SNES games. I doubt that someone could make a 3DO emu for it especially since there isn't a good 3DO open source emu for windows yet.

Another point to consider is that SEGA and Nintendo never released their hardware specs to third party developers to the extent that 3DO did. 3DO never made a single console. They just made the architecture and outsourced the manufacturing to Gold Star, Panasonic and the like.

Therefore, the chances of getting good details on how the BIOS works are MUCH more likely than for the other 'classic' consoles. That difficulty of reverse engineering is what tends to hold back emulation. Just look at how long it took for legends like ZSNES and SNES9x to get the hang of emulating SuperFX... and it's STILL giving them problems. (StarFox 64 runs at a better framerate on Daedalus than StarFox does on SNES9x!)
