Okay, so I'm a complete nub who just wants to play Starfox 64 on the go. I have the current version of the Daedalus N64 Emulator and the latest firmware, nothings downgraded or anything like that. Everythings in the right folder, but when I try to boot up the program it gives me the 80020148 error. What should I do? And if this questions been asked before then it certainly needs to be stickied. :P

I suppose I'd need to downgrade it, right? But to what? XD Someone should make a newb's guide to Homebrew.

Nah... updating to Sony is the worst thing to do.
You need to use Pandora to downgrade. Info on it here. (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=75828)

Yes, I know I gotta use Pandora. What I don't wanna do is mess up my battery. I'm also not sure about what firmware to downgrade to exactly, is it the lower the better?

You need to go to 1.50, and I think there is a way to restore the battery. I don't know it though :p

You can return the Pandora battery back by just plugging the AC Adapter in without the battery, insert the battery after booting up, and just run the installer again, and you have your battery back.
I read that on another forum, so I don't claim any Copyright, and I don't know who did it or if it will or will not brick your system.
Any damage is entirely your fault......
