The Rare Witch Project (http://www.rarewitchproject.com/), a website that has been dedicated to hacking Nintendo 64 games made by developer Rareware, has been completely redesigned with a new look and feel! Though the site's primary focus will still be N64 hacking, it plans to expand and attract a bigger fan-base. Here's what the site's founder, Ice Mario, had to say:

We are proud to give you The Rare Witch Project V2.

What's all this?
In the past five months we've had our fair share of late nights, full of blood, sweat and tears. We've worked hard to bring you this brand new revision of The Rare Witch project because we are very passionate about it's future, and continued success. It was important in the initial stages to design the site around our requirements, rather than make do with what we had.

Why have we done it?
The Rare Witch Project has followed a similar format from the beginning of its creation. Originally a website dedicated to hacking Rare games on the N64. Goldeneye and the Banjo series and have always been at the forefront of the Rare Witch Project, codes and content produced largely for these specific games, which in turn attracted a targeted fan-base to the forums. In the past few years the community side of the website has become more prominent as articles and updates on the main website have gradually become more sporadic. The Rare Witch Project is heading a new direction, a new design was needed to reflect those changes.

The Rare Witch Project should be the most prominent resource for all rare related content; this becomes increasingly important with Banjo Threeies onset. We are aiming to attract a broader user base, fans of all Rare games, this is reflected in the new forums you'll see

What's New?
Well, everything is new with exception to the content, but we'll soon sort that out ;) I could go on about the website, but it's probably best if you take a look around. The way the old site worked was quite counter-intuitive, and it was time to take a fresh approach. Content needs to be easily accessible, whether it be recent content on the main page, or old content, which can be quickly found by searching the archive. The website has been given a complete overhaul; from design, layout to functionality.

The forums have been upgraded to the latest Vbulletin version, there a quite a few new features, some will be integrated at a later date.

The Arcade!!
One of the best "new things" in my opinion. We already have several fantastic titles available, and new ones are being released each Wednesday! Check out the the guide (http://www.rarewitchproject.com/forums/showthread.php?p=235803#post235803) for more info.

A massive thanks to Grey for testing out and picking all the games. Grey will be running the arcade since he has the most experience in this field, so direct your questions his way.

In addition to all of these newly implemented features, we have some forum updates planned. Each month we'll reveal a new feature - some big and some small.

We have quite a few new forums, as mentioned before we are aiming to attract fans of all rare games. We will be monitoring the popularity of these forums to determine which ones will stay and which will go.

Why Beta?
Well we could keep working on this for a few more months and probably not be satisfied, we expect a few problems here and there. Many ideas have been put into practice and we won't know what will work out until we give it a try. The website framework has been written from scratch to suit our needs, the development is still ongoing. We'll be using this beta period to monitor usage, in an effort to improve how the system works. We'll also be using this opportunity to gather information about what type of content our users are most interested in.

So what's next?
This is an exciting time for us all and we have a lot more coming up next year. What you see now is only phase one of the development. We have some big plans for the RWP. For now the monthly updates and arcade releases will keep you busy
